Bellagio hosts 16 restaurants and uses thousands of gallons of water each day. Some of this water flows through a grease interceptor to prevent fats and oils from entering the Clark County waste water treatment system. Shown here is a picture of the opening into the grease interceptor. Clark County inspectors periodically sample it for compliance (pictures #1 and #2) Zelen installed an Automatic Bacteria Injector that supplied intrinsic grease consuming bacteria to one of Bellagio’s 20,000 gallon grease interceptors. (picture #3) The Automatic Bacteria Injector reduced the overall fats oil and grease (FOG) by over 50%. The application of this technology in one of Clark County’s schools has saved thousands of dollars in plumbing costs by eliminating unwanted odors.
